Connecting Women and Powering Progress in Energy Storage
About Us
WinES (Women in Energy Storage Network) is a network for women working across the energy storage sector.
The community launched in June 2024 as a forum for women in the energy storage sector to collaborate, share industry insight, champion one another, and increase female representation across the sector.
Through events, shared opportunities and networking, and public speaking support, WinES fosters collaboration and leadership as members shape the future of the energy storage sector together.
Our vision is to increase the visibility and amplify the voices of women shaping the future of energy storage worldwide.
Our three core pillars.
-
WinES places a strong emphasis on knowledge sharing amongst the membership. Our programme of free events features female experts share insights on emerging trends in the energy storage sector. These events enable members to stay informed and exchange ideas. The panels also showcase successful female talent and provide members with opportunities to appear on panels.
WinES also hosts panels at industry conferences, such as the Energy Storage Summit and Solar & Storage Live, as well as events focused on career development and personal brand.
-
Networking is a cornerstone of WinES in order to build a supportive community for women active in the energy storage sector. We facilitate networking opportunities through our own regular events programme, which have proven instrumental in helping members expand their professional networks, find advocates and mentors, and access career advancement opportunities.
-
WinES is dedicated to increasing the representation of women in the energy storage sector. We run regular female speaker training courses (which are free to attend), to support women with less public speaking experience who wish to take part in industry conferences and panels. In addition, we have a database of female speakers and work with energy storage conference organisers to increase diversity at industry events.
WinES is increasingly being sought out by industry participants who are looking to increase female representation, for example in terms of non-executive director roles, judges for award ceremonies and podcast appearances.
Knowledge sharing. Networking. Increasing representation.
Knowledge sharing. Networking. Increasing representation.

“WinES is a brilliant industry initiative that offers interesting and engaging events at which I have had the pleasure of meeting many women from across the energy storage industry, that I otherwise may never have met.
WinES has successfully created a community in a very male-dominated sector. I recently took part as a panel speaker for the first time at an event hosted by WinES, where I felt very supported and encouraged to step outside of my comfort zone and it was a very gratifying experience.
I know WinES has plans to support more women to speak at conferences and to have active voices in the industry. I applaud WinES’s work to date and I look forward to working more with WinES, and meeting many more industry connections via their events, in the future.”
— Victoria Upton, Power Originator at BP and member of WinES since 2024
